The story

From Glasgow to gold-standard eye care.

Originally from Belgium, Dr Spiegel completed a five-year degree at the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine and qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2001.

Since then he has worked in a diverse range of veterinary practices across the country, including the RSPCA. His keen interest in ophthalmology began in 2004. During his time in Manchester he worked at a large referral hospital, where he honed his skills in veterinary ophthalmology.

That clinical and medical experience led him to start his own referral service, Vision Vet, which has provided eye care to small animals in veterinary surgeries throughout the UK since 2009. In 2011 he gained the National French Certificate in Ophthalmology.

Dr Spiegel is now focused on providing gold-standard ophthalmology care throughout Scotland. He is proud to manage his own ophthalmic cases, and to do so thoroughly, but he is a great believer in resolving cases as fast as possible in the least invasive way.
